Week 13: San Francisco 49ers

San Fran was able to keep this game close in the beginning before inevitably running out of steam and submitting to the Green and Gold. Rodgers typically epic performance earned him NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors and positioned him at the top of the all time career passer rating list. If he can keep up this high level of play, he will definitely contend for the league MVP honors (although that guy Brady has looked pretty good, too). Rodgers had two pass plays over 50 yards on Sunday making him only the second Packer even to do this at Lambeau. You can guess who the first was. One of those plays went to DD and his run-after-the-catch is already being heralded as one of the top plays this year. The other went to Jennings as he continues to "put the team on his back" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1P0yfq2wDvU). Equally as exciting as the air attack was unexpectedly the... ground game? Rookie back James Starks out of Buffalo ran for 78 yards against the respected Niners' run D in his first competitive game in almost two years. The rook's upright running style breaths fresh air into the Pack's previously dead ground game. Hopefully, Starks can prove to be the missing link that Green Bay needs to be not only successful in December but the post-season.
